Why they got involved in Leadership Portland: 

I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the complex issues that affect our region's social and economic institutions, and use this knowledge to improve those systems. I am also very excited to develop lasting relationships with my Leadership Portland classmates.

Why it’s important: 

I believe that awareness of community issues and understanding the diverse issues faced by members of the community are critical to being an effective leader. I also believe that it is incumbent on members of the business community with the ability to provide positive leadership to do so in a way that serves members of the community with less influence.

Why Ann loves the Portland region: 

I love that in the same day and within miles of each other I can hit the trails in forest park and choose from any number of restaurants for a world class meal.

Fun Fact: 

I have been enjoying experimenting with new cooking methods, particularly when I can use fresh ingredients from my garden.
