Leadership Portland Spotlight: Sarah Flanagan
Name: Sarah Flanagan
Company: Intel Corporation
Job: Associate General Counsel
Why they got involved in Leadership Portland:
Our community is at an inflection point on racial and social justice, which increased the urgency to use my business experience and legal skills to be of service to the Portland region and Oregon.
Why it’s important:
The business community has expertise and resources to contribute to promoting inclusion, improving quality of life for all, and solving public problems. Leaders who are informed and engaged in their communities enhance civil and democratic engagement.
Why Sarah loves the Portland region:
Because I am not traveling for work during the pandemic, I have more time to walk in my neighborhood and meet neighbors. One of my favorite walks is to Council Crest Park, which, on a clear day, has views of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens.
Years ago, before I moved to Oregon, I ran the Hood-to-Coast with my sister and a friend. I now regularly drive by part of the route that I ran back then. And I cannot believe we did it!
