Leadership Portland Spotlight: Andrew Speer

Leadership Portland Spotlight: Andrew Speer

Name: Andrew Speer
Company: Portland General Electric
Job: Regulatory Consultant

Why Andrew got involved in Leadership Portland:
I wanted to network with other leaders and business professionals. I also wanted to become more aware and engage in the issues facing our city and community. Through Leadership Portland, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the community challenges, and how I can be a leader of positive change in my community. I also want to gain a network and community of like-minded business leaders who are also drivers of change.

Why it’s important:
Leadership Portland is important because local government requires community participation in order to be effective. The most effective tool in relating to how one can make an impact is to first understand and become aware of the issues they are facing.

Why Andrew loves Portland:
I very much enjoy the diversity of nature that Portland is nestled between. We have amazing access to both the coast and mountain ranges less than 2 hours away from downtown.

Fun Fact:
I am a marathon runner, a Marine Corps veteran and a home remodeler.
