Nefarious actors are taking advantage of COVID and targeting small to medium sized businesses for profit. Transitioning your businesses to telework also presents a heightened risk and challenges for your business. Timothy Hunt from the Seattle Cyber Fraud Task Force will provide a briefing on these threats followed by Ron Watters, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Cybersecurity Advisor who will walk the group through activities businesses should consider and mitigation options available.

Timothy Hunt

Seattle Field Office Supervisor, USSS Cyber Fraud Task Force
Timothy Hunt has been a member of the United States Secret Service since 2004.  He is currently the supervisor of the USSS Seattle Field Office Cyber Fraud Task Force.  This task force is a strategic partnership of local, state, and federal law enforcement entities, as well and partners from private industry and academia.  The goal of the CFTF is to identify, prosecute, and suppress technology-based criminal activity.

Prior to his current assignment, Timothy served as the squad leader for the USSS Covert Telecommunications Intercept Group. This group conducted Title III wiretaps and court-ordered pen registers, pursuant to relevant legal process, on telephone and computer networks in order to further USSS and partner investigations.

Ron Watters

Region X Cybersecurity Advisor, CISA
Ron serves as the Region X (WA, OR, AK, ID) Cybersecurity Advisor for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Based in Seattle, WA, he supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission of strengthening the security and resilience of the nation's critical infrastructure. 

His program coordinates cyber preparedness, risk mitigation and incident response, and provides cyber security resources, including assessments, to the nation’s sixteen critical infrastructure sectors and state, local, tribal, and territorial government entities.
