PNC Bank appoints Portland market regional president

PNC Bank, N.A. today announced the appointment of JT Hutchinson as the regional president and head of Corporate Banking for Portland. He is responsible for all aspects of PNC’s presence in Portland and the surrounding community, as well as having direct responsibility for leading corporate banking, which serves middle market and large corporate companies in the region.

PNC is strategically expanding its footprint nationally and as part of that effort, announced last year its plan to introduce its local leadership model in Portland, where PNC Corporate & Institutional Banking already maintains a presence. JT will be responsible for introducing PNC to the community, initiating and executing PNC’s philanthropic support, and delivering value-added products and services to local companies.

“We’ve already seen great success in Portland through our existing national businesses, and are eager to further explore the growth opportunity this market presents on both civic and business fronts,” said Louis R. Cestello, executive vice president and head of PNC’s Regional Markets. “JT is well-equipped to meet the unique needs of the community drawing upon his unique industry expertise and PNC’s Main Street bank model.”

Hutchinson has relocated to Portland from Philadelphia market, where he served as a senior vice president and managing director for PNC’s Public Finance Group. He joined the bank in 2007 and spent the last 13 years supporting public finance. Hutchinson managed a team of bankers focused on providing comprehensive financial services, including capital raises, treasury strategy and investment management to public sector entities, including transportation agencies, municipalities, public utilities, education and 501c3 organizations. Additionally, Hutchinson was head of PNC’s Public Finance national sector groups. In that role, he was responsible for integrating sector- and industry-based expertise to supplement regional business development across the United States.

Hutchinson has a Master in Business Administration degree from Villanova University and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Active in a number of community organizations, Hutchinson serves on as a consultant for The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation, is a mentor for Philadelphia Reads and a champion for Cystic Fibrosis research through Emily’s Entourage.

“The talent that we have added in the Pacific Northwest as part of our national expansion is unparalleled when it comes to deep banking expertise and commitment to clients,” said Terry Begley, executive vice president and CEO of PNC’s Corporate Banking. “As we continue our national expansion strategy, these leaders will be critical as we grow locally and cement deep roots in the business community.”
