Improving cleanup coordination

Improving cleanup coordination

On Feb. 26, the Oregon Legislature passed House Bill 4054 to enable better coordination between the city of Portland and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) to better address homeless camps, and associated health and safety issues. The bill aligns rules related to cleanup activities between the two entities and authorizes them to enter into an intergovernmental agreement to allow the city of Portland to conduct outreach and cleanup efforts on ODOT properties and rights of way. The Alliance actively supported the bill, which now heads to Governor Brown for her signature.
