City of Portland Dashboard tracks progress on key issues

In 2017, the Alliance launched a City of Portland Dashboard that measures progress in five key areas of city government: Accountability, homelessness, housing, transportation and jobs. On Feb. 26, the Alliance released an annual performance review that looks at objective, quantifiable data measured by the city and our own Value of Jobs Economic Check-Up. The data shows movement in the right direction on jobs and the economy. Progress is also being made on housing and homelessness, though more needs to be done to increase housing supply and implement long-term solutions to homelessness, such as permanent supportive housing. However, accountability, which measures permitting efficiency, and transportation stand out for lack of progress. In both areas, the data shows movement in the wrong direction related to permit timelines, and road conditions and maintenance
