City announces new winter shelter

As winter weather approaches, the Alliance continues to work with social service providers in an effort to identify additional services for people now sleeping on the streets, including additional shelter beds, transitional housing and supportive permanent housing.
As winter weather approaches, the Alliance continues to work with social service providers in an effort to identify additional services for people now sleeping on the streets, including additional shelter beds, transitional housing and supportive permanent housing. Working in partnership with Downtown Clean & Safe, the Alliance assisted in the opening of a winter shelter in the Mead Building downtown prior to Thanksgiving. The shelter will serve 75 men every night through April, with priority for veterans, people 55 or older and those with disabilities.
