Six year minimum wage hike began on July 1
On July 1, the first in a series of minimum wage hikes in Oregon took effect, going from $9.25 to $9.75 an hour. This was the first of seven annual increases that will raise the minimum wage to up to $14.75 an hour inside Portland’s urban growth boundary, $13.50 in midsize counties and $12.50 in rural areas by 2020. The Alliance continues to advocate for a training incentive and has been assured by legislative leaders and the governor that the issue will be taken up in 2017. For more information, click here.
