United Way event raises more than $300K for childhood poverty

United Way of Columbia-Willamette raised $344,321 through its 24 hour community engagement event, called >24 (“More than 24”), which invited individuals to join the movement against childhood poverty in Clackamas, Clark, Multnomah and Washington counties.  Participants were encouraged to make a contribution of either volunteer time or monetary donations to allow all children, despite socioeconomic backgrounds, a fair chance at success.
