Portland, Ore. – This week, the Portland Business Alliance board of directors announced its endorsement of candidates in a number of local and statewide races.
“These candidates have demonstrated a good understanding of what it takes to retain and grow jobs and keep this region attractive for employers,” said Sandra McDonough, president and CEO of the Portland Business Alliance. “Throughout the endorsement process, the board looked closely at each candidate’s position on key issues that impact the economy and help maintain a high quality of life for everyone. We believe these individuals are committed to those goals at their respective levels of government.”
Endorsements announced by the Alliance board this week were:
House of Representatives
District 30: Dan Mason
District 40: Evon Tekorius
District 51: Dual endorsement of Lori Chavez DeRemer and Janelle Bynum
Multnomah County Commission
Position 1: Eric Zimmerman
Position 4: Lori Stegmann
Clackamas County Commission
Chair: Jim Bernard
Alliance board endorsements are based on a process that includes candidate interviews conducted by its endorsement committee, followed by a vote by the full board. Two-thirds of the board members present must agree before an endorsement is made.
