Lane Powell defeats ‘Boston’ band founder’s claims of alleged trademark infringement

Lane Powell announced in August its defeat against ‘Boston’ band founder Tom Scholz’s motion to prevent his former band members, Fran Cosmo and his son Anthony, from using the Boston trademark.  Fran was the lead singer of ‘Boston’ from 1994 and toured with the band until 2004, while his son was the guitarist and songwriter for the band from 1999 until 2004.  Both men were sued by Scholz, who alleged that they violated his trademarks in the band name by referring to their past affiliation in flyers and other promotional material.
