PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Business Alliance board of directors today announced its endorsement of Tim Leavitt in the race for mayor of Vancouver, Washington.
“On behalf of the Alliance board of directors, we are excited to announce our endorsement for someone who has demonstrated real leadership on business and economic issues,” said Gregg Kantor, chair of the Portland Business Alliance board of directors and CEO of NW Natural. “The city of Vancouver has benefitted from Mayor Tim Leavitt’s leadership over the past four years. We look forward to working with him on the region’s economic development, transportation issues such as the I-5 bridge replacement project and, of course, private-sector job retention and growth, all of which he has a strong track record on.”
Alliance board endorsements are based on a process that includes candidate interviews conducted by its endorsement committee followed by a vote by the full board. Two-thirds of the board members present must agree before an endorsement is made.
