Business After Hours networking event hosted by GlumacPortland Business Alliance events are among the highest-quality networking and professional development gatherings in the Portland region, attracting more than 7,500 people each year. The Alliance offers a wide variety of events to help members boost their visibility, connect with civic and business leaders and raise their awareness of local and regional issues. Networking Events


Building Business Connections: Building Business Connections is the Alliance’s premiere morning networking event, featuring lively discussion, focused connection-building conversations and educational opportunities to help attendees make new business connections, build their business and prosper. It is held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. every fourth Tuesday of the month.

Business After Hours: Business After Hours is the Alliance’s afternoon networking event, offering an opportunity to create new business relationships in relaxed setting. The event is hosted by different business each month, helping to boost member visibility. The event is held from 5 to 7 p.m. every second Wednesday of the month.

ShopTalk Showcase: Hosted by a different business every month, ShopTalk is an opportunity to have an exclusive inside look at different Alliance member companies. The event features networking, member introductions and a brief host presentation.
 

Annual Signature & Golf Events


A Place With No Ceiling: Held each September, A Place with No Ceiling is a reception focused on celebrating women and recognizing a woman leader and company blazing a trail for women in business. We accept nominations for both the individual female leadership award as well as the company award.

Annual Meeting: Held each spring, Annual Meeting is one of the state's largest gatherings of business professionals and civic leaders. It attracts around 1,000 business professionals and features a prominent keynote speaker.

Business Leadership Evening: Held in the fall, Business Leadership Evening celebrates the leadership of the business community in the region. The evening features a dynamic keynote speaker exemplifying business philanthropy and leadership. The William S. Naito Leadership Award is presented to recognize the philanthropy of a local business leader.

Chair’s Cup: Chair's Cup is a unique golfing experience for the region's top chief executive officers and business leaders. Held in late spring/early summer, the event begins with a dinner for players and guests followed the next day by golf, luncheon and awards. The playing field is limited to 72 participants.

Golf Scramble: The Alliance’s annual Golf Scramble event in September provides fun and networking for a field of 144 players. The day starts with 18 holes of golf at a local premier golf course and ends with a dinner and an awards reception that includes a raffle and silent auction.
 

Educational Events


Young Professionals: The Alliance supports young professionals in Portland through a variety of events with educational, civic and networking opportunities.

Forum: The Alliance’s Forum is a monthly speaker series that highlights business and public policy issues. At the event, business and civic leaders engage in thoughtful discussion about issues impacting business and our region. It is held from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month.

Green Hour: This event offers members with innovative sustainability plans to showcase their efforts and provide a venue for members to connect with environmentally-aware professionals. 

Lunch with Leaders: Exclusive to Alliance members, the Lunch with Leaders event series connects members with elected officials in an informal atmosphere. Attendees have the opportunity to hear from elected officials about policy issues important to business as well as ask questions.

Maximize Your Membership: Held twice a year, this event is an opportunity for current and prospective members to learn about benefits and other offerings at the Alliance. The Alliance’s senior staff discusses ways for members to take advantage of their Alliance membership and offer tips for getting involved and engaged.
 

Community Calendar Events


As a benefit of membership the Alliance offers the opportunity to promote your company/business events to other members on the Alliance's online Community Calendar.

Only three active events per company at any one time will be posted. Please allow two business days for approval of community events.
